I like to tell the stories of folks you'll never hear about, how they are succeeding in free agency. I steer clear of the 'rock star' stories that the media focuses so much on. But…I'm gonna give in today. A great friend of mine, Jon Dale (jondale.com), just launched a business and it's already received rock star status:
It's similar to Groupon and LivingSocial in providing us with deep discounts on products and services that we use. Jon sent me something from LivingSocial not long ago that gave me $40 credit for only $20 cost at my favorite restaurant. A no brainer. For referring me, Jon got…nothing except my appreciation.
Which is precisely what makes Moolala different. It gives us something the others don't…credit for who we refer. For people who register under you, and those under them…down to five levels, YOU get credit for all their purchases. It's pretty darn brilliant and a win-win for everyone. Wish I'd thought of this...
It's pretty basic. I signed up, I get discount offers, those I like, I purchase. I tell others about it, like I'm telling you, and lots of them sign up and buy discounted stuff. Whoever makes purchases, I get credit. In cash. Beauty.
Jon and his partners launched Moolala just days ago, before they even have discounts to offer. And guess what, folks are signing up like mad just for the idea. Which is great for Jon, because with every wave of thousands signing up, he can demand better and better deals from companies to give to us in the next week or two.
You'll be reading about Moolala soon, and I'm gunning for credit that you heard it here, from me, first.
So go check it out, watch the intro video, it's pretty cool:

If you don't know Jon, he lives a quick 12 minute hike from my house, just over the ridge here in the Rocky Mountains in Woodland Park, CO. Jon has four kids that my daughter Autumn babysits a good bit. In 2009, he attended and graduated from a 'Six Month MBA' program with Seth Godin. Jon was one of nine selected from many hundreds of applicants, if not thousands. Since then he's been a high-demand social media consultant to companies such as Thomas Nelson Publishers and authors like Max Lucado.
But he's an idea guy and consummate entrepreneur. We shared offices down in town till I quit coming in (I don't like to leave home much). Jon is a great story on free agency. This new venture, Moolala, he thought up with his brother just a couple months ago. Being a really neat idea, and knowing the right people…attracted a lot of attention and support.
I'll be reporting on Moolala's progress, and in the next couple weeks will be interviewing Jon so you get the inside scoop on how he did all this.
Have fun.
